Year of 2013


Jon Axelrod '68, 
of DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., was elected president of The Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.

Richard G. Baumann '64,
of SulmeyerKupetz in Los Angeles, was chosen as one of Southern California "Super Lawyers" in 2013.

Year of 2012

John S. Skilton '69, managing partner of Perkins Coie LLP’s Madison office, was elected by the American Bar Association House of Delegates to the ABA’s Board of Governors for a three-year term.

Year of 2011

Donald A. Hoffman ‘68 has joined Leake & Andersson, L.L.P. as counsel to the firm, and will be based in the New Orleans office.

Year of 2010

Richard G. Baumann ’64, a Southern California “Super Lawyer” for 2009, practices with Sulmeyer Kupetz in Los Angeles and has written and lectured extensively on the issue of Creditors’ Rights and Commercial Collections.

R. Thomas Howell Jr. ’67 has been named Interim Executive Director of the American Bar Association. Previously Howell served as General Counsel of the ABA, a post he accepted in 2007 after being of counsel to the Chicago-based firm of Seyfarth Shaw for ten years and previously Vice President and General Counsel of The Quaker Oats Company.

Joel Hirschhorn ’67, of Hirschhorn & Bieber P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida, has been elected a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society recognizing effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and superior ethical reputation.

Kenneth A. von Kluck ’68, of Counsel with Chicago-based Defrees & Fiske LLC, will join the firm’s other employees in carrying on under the name of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC after the merger of the two firms.

Harley Lewin ’69 has joined the New York office of McCarter & English as a partner in the Intellectual Property and Information Technology practice group.

Year of  2009

Samuel Swansen ’62 is celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of his firm Samuel T. Swansen PC in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, which centers on estate planning services. Previously Swansen worked for 30 years with Dechert, Price and Rhoads in Philadelphia.
