Course Description

This seminar will address the legal treatment of children by exploring a

number of contemporary law and policy issues relating to children, and

by examining the opportunities and dilemmas of child advocates who seek

reform through legislative or judicial action. The seminar provides

students with an intensive writing experience culminating in the

completion of a 20-30 page research paper. Class sessions will be

devoted to advanced legal research, legal scholarship, faculty-student

meetings to provide individualized feedback on written work, and student

presentations of works-in-progress.
