Course Description

Creation of promissory liability; interpretation of words and conduct; exchange, reliance or formality as necessary for creation of promissory liability; remedies for breach of contract; unfairness as a reason for avoiding contractual liability.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- master the fundamental rules and policies of contract law;
- appreciate the challenges of balancing competing values within a coherent legal framework; and
- recognize the various sides of a legal issue and effectively articulate the strengths and weaknesses of each.
