Institute for Legal Studies

CLE Courses and Financial Hardship Policy

CLE Events:  ILS hosts or cosponsors multiple conferences and lectures each year, some of which are approved for Continuing Legal Education Credit for Wisconsin attorneys by the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners and may be approved in other states. (See events page and details posted for each event.)  Many of our events are free for all attendees but occasionally a fee is charged.

Hardship Policy:  For ILS CLE programs that do require a registration fee, registrants who are unable to afford continuing legal education program course registration fees due to financial hardship may petition for registration fee waivers or discounted program fees. A petition for a reduced fee shall be filed at the same time the attorney pre-registers for the program, and state why the normal fee associated with the program causes the lawyers financial hardship. The petition must be signed by the lawyer. The Institute for Legal Studies' CLE coordinator may waive or reduce the fee for the CLE program at his or her discretion.
