The Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society elected its 2016-17 editorial board earlier this month. Kathryn Pfefferle will serve as the 2016-17 Editor-in-Chief, replacing outgoing Editor-in-Chief Katherine Kratcha.

The student-run journal, published two to three times a year, includes articles by students and professionals on issues related to gender and the law.

In addition to its print version, the Gender Journal sponsors an annual symposium. This February the symposium, “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Fairer, Better? A Critical Analysis of Gender and the Olympic Movement,” focused on gender issues within the Olympics. Speakers discussed physiological requirements for male and female athletes, the inclusion of intersex and transgender athletes, and the feminine ideal.

Senior editorial board members for 2016–17 include:

• Taryn Trujillo, senior submissions editor
• Lucie Butner and Jessa Hackman, senior managing articles editors
• David Lanser, senior note and comment editor
• Eunmi Chang, business editor
• Mary Parmeter, symposium editor

The board encourages current first-year students to participate in its spring write-on competition, beginning immediately after finals in May. For more information, please contact Kathryn Pfefferle (kpfefferle@wisc.edu) or David Lanser (dlanser@wisc.edu).
