Dean Raymond, Vaughn B. Rasmussen II, and Rebecca Scheller, who

leads UW Law's admissions team, celebrate the newly named office.

The admissions office at University of Wisconsin Law School has a new name.

On Oct. 2, Dean Margaret Raymond officially inaugurated the Vaughn B. Rasmussen II Admissions and Financial Aid Office, named to honor the significant contributions of 1972 graduate Vaughn B. Rasmussen II.

Mr. Rasmussen created an endowed scholarship fund for students and recently made a significant financial contribution to the Law School. He is a former US Bank employee, who was heading up the bank’s special assets unit when he retired. As a Law School student, he was actively involved, serving as president of the Student Bar Association.

“I’m pleased to honor Mr. Rasmussen’s history of philanthropy toward UW Law School and to our students in this way,” said Dean Raymond. “His generosity will truly transform students’ lives and further our mission to provide them with a world-class legal education.”

To thank Mr. Rasmussen personally, students, faculty and staff joined Dean Raymond for an Oct. 2 open house in the office that now bears his name.
