The Wisconsin Innocence Project and the Institute for Legal Studies announce a panel discussion open to faculty, staff, students, visitors and members of the legal community:
"Picking Cotton: A Victim's Perspective on Wrongful Convictions"

- Keith Findley, assistant professor of law, faculty director of the Wisconsin Innocence Project, and president of the Innocence Network
- Carrie Sperling, clinical associate professor, interim director of the Frank J. Remington Center and co-director of the Wisconsin Innocence Project
This panel discussion will include rape victim and New York Times best selling author Jennifer Thompson and co-author Ronald Cotton, who was convicted of the attack and later exonerated through DNA testing. Other panelists include Jonathan Scharrer of the Remington Center's Restorative Justice Project, and a representative from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Victims Services Office. The panel will discuss victims in the criminal justice system and in wrongful conviction cases in particular.
Lunch will be provided; registration is not required. Brown bags also welcome.
