The Ninth Annual South Asia Legal Studies Workshop will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015
10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Lubar Commons. Sylvia Vatuk, professor emerita at University of Illinois at Chicago, will deliver the keynote address, "Women's Well-Being and the Law in India: The Impact of Recent Legal Developments."
Workshop panels include:
- Digitization and Social Media Research
- Diffused Present and Entangled Pasts: Law and its Consequences in South Asia
- From Mandating Disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility to Advancing the Right to Health
- and Gender Rights: Limits and Power of Law as a Lever to Promote Social Change in India
