Richerson, UW Law alumni honored at State Bar's annual meeting

UW Law student Hannah Richerson has been named Outstanding Public Interest Law Student for 2018 by the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Besides working towards her J.D., Richerson is pursuing a Ph.D. in environment and resources at the UW. As a first-year law student, she revived the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and served as its president. She has assisted with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and she recently participated in a spring break trip to Wisconsin’s Indian Nations to provide free estate planning services to tribal members.

Richerson joins Jacob Haller, a Marquette Law School student, in receiving the outstanding student award at a special State Bar member recognition celebration, held this month at its annual meeting in Lake Geneva. 

Several UW Law alumni were also honored this year, including:

Receiving awards posthumously were Phil Rosenkranz ’81, the Dan Tuchscherer Outstanding Public Interest Law Attorney, and Irvin B. Charne ’49, the Leonard L. Loeb Award honoree.
