Class of 2013 arrives, begins with community outreach

The UW Law School has welcomed the Class of 2013 - some 260 students from across the United States and around the world.

And almost as soon as they arrived, those students began the process of reaching out to the Madison community. On their second day of orientation, the Class of 2013 engaged in Community Outreach Day, traveling to senior centers around the community, where they engaged in activities ranging from household chores to simple conversations.

"The residents and staff at Oak Park Place are excited to share a day of service with the incoming University of Wisconsin law students," said Jasmine Rogness, regional marketing director for Oak Park Place.

At the Middleton Senior Center, recent UW Law graduate Dan Cornelius will lead law students and seniors in a discussion about the gulf oil spill.
