University of Wisconsin Law School was named one of the nation’s best law schools for practical training, ranking third in a recent report by The National Jurist magazine.

The top 60 schools were honored in the March issue of The National Jurist, as well as in the spring issue of its sister publication, preLaw magazine. To determine which schools deliver the most comprehensive offerings, the magazine used American Bar Association data on clinics, field placements and simulations.

UW Law School offers a wide range of experiential learning opportunities—including clinics in criminal and civil law, health care advocacy, immigrant justice, and business law and entrepreneurship; externship placements with judges, state agencies and public interest organizations; and simulation courses that prepare students for the real-life challenges of law practice.

University of St. Thomas – Minneapolis and Northeastern University ranked first and second, respectively. UW Law’s third-place ranking comes after its clinical offerings placed fourth in the nation earlier this year.
