This presentation will explain the history of constitutional structures in Muslim lands before the modern period, and explain how insights from these structures could solve some of the biggest political challenges for Muslim-majority countries today. Specifically, Prof. Quraishi-Landes will present a structure for Islamic constitutionalism inspired by Muslim history, yet designed for contemporary realities.
