Criminal justice was tops on the agenda for Wisconsin lawmakers in the state Senate today. The chamber passed a handful of tough-on-crime bills — some of which ratchet up penalties for people convicted of certain crimes. The Department of Corrections found one could cost taxpayers $57 million a year.
