You may seen the heading 'Library Express' on the UW Madison Libraries home page or perhaps have heard the term casually mentioned during a library tour, but what exactly does this service offer students and faculty? Library Express has been in place at UW Madison for many years and provides document delivery of articles available from the campus libraries. For a nominal fee of $2.00 per request, an article will be scanned and sent to your computer desktop, usually within 2-3 business days. If you do not feel like visiting a campus library to photocopy an article or a chapter from a book, simply logon to Library Express, provide your active Wiscard number for debit payment, and submit your request(s). Using Library Express for campus document delivery is a tremendous time saver. Another feature of the Library Express service involves inter-library loan. When your research requires a book or an article that is not available on the UW Madison campus, logon to Library Express and your request will be sent to lending libraries across the country. Standard ILL requests typically take 10-14 business days and you will not be charged for this service. Your Library Express account allows you to track outstanding requests as well as view a list of all completed transactions.
