Health in Hmong Communities

BRIDGING THE GAP: NEW DVD, "BODY AND SPIRIT: HEALING YOUR WAY", HELPS HMONG AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS WORK TOGETHER FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH

WATCH ONLINE NOW!

Body and Spirit: Healing Your Way explores health and healing from a holistic perspective, providing balanced coverage of such traditional Hmong practices as shamanist spiritual healing, while, at the same time, underlining the need to maintain modern healthcare practices...Hmong Americans from a variety of backgrounds-shaman, nurse, patient, and elder-speak about the need to exercise, to reduce the intake of sugar and fats, and to maintain a regular schedule of checkups with a modern healthcare professional....it is therefore highly recommended that Hmong Mutual Assistance Associations (HMAAs) and other, comparable, social service agencies integrate this video into a well-rounded healthcare promotion agenda.
