The UW Law School Pro Bono Program was an enthusiastic participant in
the American Bar Association’s annual Celebrate Pro Bono Week. We used the week to spread awareness of the need for pro bono services in our community
and opportunities to get involved. Learn more about local and national

Events At the University of Wisconsin Law School
Champions of Change – Celebrating Public Service Lawyers
Thursday, October 13th, 12:45PM to 2:00PM
We started off the Pro Bono Celebration early by partnering with Career Services and the Public Interest Law Foundation to host the White House Champions of Change event. This online event brought together students at over one hundred law schools around the country to celebrate the efforts of sixteen dedicated public service lawyers. University of Wisconsin law students, faculty, and staff joined to participate in the conversation. Read more about the event and other law school pro bono initiatives on the White House Blog.
UW Law School Pro Bono Society Celebration
Tuesday, October 25th and Wednesday, October 26th, 11:00AM to 2:00PM
Law School Atrium
On October 25th and 26th, the University of Wisconsin Law School Pro Bono Program promoted the law school's new Pro Bono Society in the law school atrium. We served Celebrate Pro Bono cake to law students and faculty while raising awareness of the benefits and opportunities available for participating in local pro bono activities.
In early September 2011, the University of Wisconsin Law School Pro Bono Program appealed for the establishment of a Pro Bono Society to recognize the outstanding efforts of UW law students participating in pro bono service during their tenure at law school. Dean Margaret Raymond and the faculty subsequently approved the creation of this society, and all students now have the opportunity to be inducted after completing 50 hours of pro bono service.
