Sarah joined the Legal Research and Writing Department in July 2014, following a career as a litigator in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP's Los Angeles and Palo Alto offices. At Gibson Dunn, Sarah focused on class action and securities litigation. She also had a robust pro bono practice, including representation of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission in a California Supreme Court challenge to the Commission's development of California's new voting district boundaries.
In addition to practicing law, Sarah also studied secondary education at UCLA's Teacher Education Program and taught high school at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles. She developed and implemented English Language Arts curriculum, taught English to 9th, 10th, and 12th graders, and coached Dorsey's Mock Trial team.
Sarah graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002. Sarah was a member of the San Diego Law Review, a peer academic tutor, and a Public Interest Grant recipient. Sarah was admitted to the California Bar in 2002, and she is also admitted to various federal courts throughout the state of California. Prior to law school, Sarah attended Northwestern University, where she studied theater. She performed in various campus productions and was a member and director of Melodious Thunk, Northwestern's original a cappella group.
