Biography

Walter B. Raushenbush, Emeritus Professor of Law, is a native of Madison. He graduated with high honors from Harvard College and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He joined the Law School Faculty in 1958, and taught Property, Real Estate, and Professional Responsibility.

Professor Raushenbush was the principal author of:

  • Wisconsin Real Estate Law (1994)
  • Cases and Materials on Real Estate Transaction (1997)
  • Brown on Personal Property (3rd ed. 1975)
  • Wisconsin Construction Lien Law (1974)

He served as a Visiting Professor of Law at the Universities of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and San Diego, and at Pepperdine and Arizona State Universities. He is a past-president of the national Law School Admission Council, and served on the Real Property question-drafting committee for the Multistate Bar Examination.
