Biography

Marcus J. Berghahn is a shareholder at the Madison law firm of Hurley, Burish & Stanton, S.C. Marcus concentrates his practice on the defense of individuals and corporations accused of criminal misconduct. Marcus is listed in Best Lawyers in America (Criminal Defense: White-Collar) and has been recognized as a Superlawyer (Criminal Defense). Marcus practices throughout Wisconsin's circuit courts and in United States District Court (both in Wisconsin and throughout the United States) and represents clients at all stages of criminal proceedings: from investigation to pre-charging negotiations, before a Grand Jury or a John Doe magistrate, to trial and through appeal. Marcus lectures regularly on topics of criminal law at continuing legal education seminars. Currently, he teaches a seminar on constitutional law at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Marcus received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
