Biography
Clinical Associate Professor Jim Cooley joined the Remington Center in 2007, after seventeen years of teaching in the Law School's Legal Defense Program. At LDP, his area of specialty was trial-level, indigent criminal defense. At the Remington Center, Prof. Cooley has taught in LAIP, the Criminal Appeals Project, and the Wisconsin Innocence Project.
Prof. Cooley thoroughly enjoys the mixture of teaching and client assistance that clinical teaching affords. He is especially concerned with the racism endemic in the criminal justice system, and has served on Dane County's Jury Implementation Committee.
