Michele Perreault is an associate attorney at DeWitt, Ross & Stevens,SC. Her practice covers three primary areas: family law, civil litigation, and city prosecutor. In the area of family law, Ms.Perreault concentrates on divorce, domestic partnerships, and adoptions.
A successful civil and criminal litigator in jury and bench trials, Ms.Perreault is also experienced in negotiations and mediation. She currently serves as prosecutor for the City of Fitchburg and Village of Brooklyn.
Recently, Ms. Perreault led a successful case that involved three jurisdictions, a jury trial and a bench trial, and the successful return of a child to his family in Egypt. She has also secured significant financial victories in the area of non-married individuals' rights to reasonable property divisions, including a recent case upheld by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, (Haefner v. Fitzgibbon).
Due to her work, Ms. Perreault has been named by Madison Magazine as one of Madison's Top Lawyers in three categories: Family Law, Adoption, and Juvenile Law. She also was named by Milwaukee Magazine and Super Lawyers statewide magazine as a Rising Star-- a designation held by less than 3% of Wisconsin attorneys.
Ms. Perreault graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She also holds a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Bachelor's degree, magna cumlaude, from Lawrence University.
Ms. Perreault serves on the Board of Directors for Fair Wisconsin. Additionally, she serves on the Board of the Family Law Section of the Wisconsin State Bar.
