Biography

Marie Stanton is a 1975 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School whose litigation practice focuses in tort claims, professional liability and alternative dispute resolution. Her undergraduate degree in psychology was earned at the University of Dayton. Her past practice experience began with handling criminal prosecutions as an Assistant District Attorney inOutagamie County followed by 32 years of civil litigation. She was the first woman admitted to the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1993, and the first woman admitted to the American College of Trial Lawyers from Wisconsin in 1999. She is a frequentlecturer at CLE programs and the University of Wisconsin Law School. She is the managingpartner at Hurley, Burish & Stanton, S.C.
