Biography

Phillip Koss has been a Walworth County, Wisconsin, Circuit Court Judge since his election in 2012. Prior to being elected judge, Judge Koss was a prosecutor for many years. He was elected Walworth County District Attorney in 1990, and served there until he was elected Judge. He has lectured at many seminars for judges, prosecutors, social workers, and law enforcement on a wide variety of subjects, most commonly trial work.

Judge Koss has taught Trial Advocacy at the University Of Wisconsin Law School since 1998.

Judge Koss was selected by Kids First Foundation of Milwaukee to travel to Latvia in 2003 to train prosecutors, judges, and their Parliament on the topic of child abuse. Koss returned to Latvia in 2017, where this time he trained judges and prosecutors on trial advocacy.

Judge Koss is a graduate of the law school at the College of William & Mary in Virginia.
