Stan Davis is an owner and partner in the firm of Davis & Farley, LLC, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Stan's practice focuses on advising and assisting clients on issues related to business transactions and planning as well as dealing with the executive and legislative branches of local, state and federal governments. Ranging from strategic planning to litigation, Stan focuses on proactive problem solving and advocacy to achieve success for his clients.
Prior to attending law school, Stan graduated from the University of Wisconsin " La Crosse, taught high school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of U.S. Rep. Bruce Vento (MN) and U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone (MN). After his graduation from George Washington University Law School in 1998, Stan served as an Assistant Attorney General in the civil litigation unit of the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ). At DOJ, Stan advised and represented state agencies, legislators and employees in litigation in state and federal courts around the country.
In 2003, Stan was appointed to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Jim Doyle. In that capacity, he served as chief legal advisor to the Governor, as the Governor's liaison to the Wisconsin Court System, the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Department of Military Affairs. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Claims Board, chairman of the Wisconsin Pardon Advisory Board and directed the Governor's Homeland Security Council and Judicial Appointments Commission.
Stan is a currently member of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and served as a member of the UW System Board of Regents until July 2011. He also currently serves on the board of the University of Wisconsin " La Crosse Foundation and the Celebrate Children Foundation.
