Biography
A member of Godfrey & Kahn's Employee Benefits Practice Group and Of Counsel in the Milwaukee office, Terrence K. Knudsen has practiced tax, labor and employment law with a particular emphasis on employee benefits.
Mr. Knudsen's practice has included the design, implementation and administration of tax-qualified pension, profit-sharing, 401(k) and employee stock ownership plans, as well as non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements and cafeteria plans. He has also counseled financial institutions and fiduciaries on ERISA matters, and has represented parties in ESOP financing transactions. Mr. Knudsen has frequently spoken to business and professional groups.
A graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in business administration, Mr. Knudsen received his legal training at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated cum laude with the Order of the Coif. He has been listed in Who's Who in American Law and in The Best Lawyers in America in the employee benefits law category. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association, as well as a member, former director, and past president of both the Greater Milwaukee Employee Benefits Council and Wisconsin Retirement Plan Professionals, Ltd. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Employee Benefits Association and is an Adjunct Professor of employee benefits law at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Madison, Wisconsin.
