Course Description
This introductory survey course is designed with the complexity and breath of health law in mind. It is a course about: (1) a profession (medicine) and the contracts and torts associated with its practice, (2) the business of health care and the associated duties and liabilities, and (3) competing stakeholder interests and the role of state and federal government and the corresponding regulatory framework. This course is team-taught by a faculty member and a practicing health lawyer. We will invite other faculty and practicing attorneys to share their expertise in this broad field and frame the class using case
studies and transactions in the practice of health law.
