Course Description

Lawyering Skills: Pre-Trial Advocacy: This is a two-credit, advanced legal writing class that is designed to prepare students for litigation practice and reinforce critical writing skills.  The class is based on a case hypothetical that the students will "litigate" from the pre-filing stage through dispositive motions.  Students will learn how to prepare basic pleadings and discovery documents from a practical perspective, with a special emphasis on discovery, motion practice and brief writing.  This is an essential and historically popular course for students who want to develop and refine their advocacy skills.
