  • February 6, 2014 ABF Exchange & Legal Studies Workshop: "Was the South African Land Restitution Process Fair? A Bottom-Up Assessment of the State's Attempt to Address the Legacy of Land Dispossession"  Professor Bernadette Atuahene will present her paper at noon in Lubar Commons. This is the first of a renewed series of ABF Exchange Speakers sponsored by the Institute for Legal Studies, hosted by Professors Tonya Brito and Beth Mertz, and also is part of the Legal Studies Workshop Series. Lunch provided at noon; presentation starting about 12:15. Registration is not required.


  • March 28, 2014 "Mini-DOMAs as Political Process Failures: the Imperative of Heightened Scrutiny for State Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment" by Steve Sanders, Associate Professor of Law at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Affiliated Faculty, IU Department of Gender Studies, and Affiliated Faculty, Kinsey Institute for Research in Gender, Sex, and Reproduction. Junior Faculty Exchange lunch talk at noon in Lubar Commons.  A paper will be available before this event.
