The Indigenous Law Students Association at UW Law School will host the Coming Together of Peoples Conference on Saturday, March 12.

This year’s conference, the school’s 30th annual, will feature presentations on sovereignty and modern day tribal politics, recent Supreme Court decisions and their impact on indigenous people, and more.

Stacy Leeds, dean of the University of Arkansas School of Law, will deliver the keynote address. Her speech will highlight issues facing Indian Country and touch on her experience as the only Native American law school dean in the United States.

Leeds is a former Hastie Fellow who received her LL.M. from UW Law. She is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

The conference, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Law School, is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
