Maria de Arteaga

Maria de Arteaga, a clinical instructor with the Wisconsin Innocence Project, has been named to Wisconsin Law Journal's Up and Coming Lawyers list for 2018.

According to Wisconsin Law Journal, "The award recognizes attorneys who — right out of the starting gate — have shown themselves to be rising stars. With eight years or less of experience, honorees have handled challenging legal issues, taken steps to improve the justice system and given of themselves to their communities."

De Arteaga, a 2015 UW Law graduate, joins ten other UW Law alumni who are receiving the honor this year:

Danielle Baudhuin ’15, Axley Attorneys

Maria de Arteaga ’15, University of Wisconsin Law School

Maryam Ghayyad ’12, Murphy Desmond

Jason Krautkramer ’15, Daubert Law Firm

Amber Raffeet August '13, Legal Aid Society
Adam Schleis ’14, Office of the State Public Defender

Monica Wedgewood ’14, von Briesen & Roper

Nick Welle ’10, Foley & Lardner

Vanessa Wishart ’12, Stafford Rosenbaum

Honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner in Milwaukee on Thursday, Sept. 13.
