Sen. Elizabeth Warren delivered a videotaped tribute to Professor Emeritus Bill Whitford at a symposium in his honor, "The (Un)Quiet Realist: Building and Reflecting on the Contributions of Bill Whitford," held in Philadelphia on Oct. 24, 2014.

Hosted by the Temple Law Review, the symposium recognized Whitford for nearly fifty years of scholarship advancing consumer, bankruptcy and contract law. Symposium papers will be published in an upcoming edition of the Temple Law Review.

Warren praised Whitford's leadership in his field: "Bill was a quiet hero, working with colleagues like Stewart Macaulay to turn the University of Wisconsin Law School into a very special place, where empirical questions were framed, careful research was honored, and creative ideas were born."
