Lia Ocasio wins Student Pro Bono award from Dane County Bar Association

UW Law School student Lia Ocasio recently received the Student Pro Bono award from the Dane County Bar Association during a May reception.

Each year, DCBA celebrates and honors attorneys, law students, law firms and organizations providing pro bono legal services in Dane County.

Ocasio’s extensive pro bono service includes volunteering for the Unemployment Appeals Clinic, the Community Immigration Law Center, and the National Immigrant Justice Center. During a winter break service trip to New Orleans, Ocasio contributed nearly 35 hours of service at AIDSLaw.

The Law School congratulates the 2013 Pro Bono honorees, including the following UW Law alumni:
