Course Description

The course will emphasize the unique principles regarding the federal-trust relationship; the interplay among federal, state, and tribal jurisdictions; and tribal sovereignty. By examining the source and scope of federal, state and tribal authority in Indian Country, students shall gain an understanding of the basic underpinnings of federal Indian law.
