Course Description
This seminar will address the legal treatment of children by exploring a
number of contemporary law and policy issues relating to children, and
by examining the opportunities and dilemmas of child advocates who seek
reform through legislative or judicial action. The seminar provides
students with an intensive writing experience culminating in the
completion of a 20-30 page research paper. Class sessions will be
devoted to advanced legal research, legal scholarship, faculty-student
meetings to provide individualized feedback on written work, and student
presentations of works-in-progress.
