Here at the law library, we know how hard all of you work-- we see you working on class readings in the Reading Rooms, checking out study rooms to do group work, and looking at course reserves and study aids.
Since we can’t go with you to your exams to hold your hand (or bring in puppies for everyone), we came up with a few ideas to help you relieve stress during this busy (and stressful!) time of the semester.
- Coloring pages and journaling. Coloring for adults has risen in popularity in recent years, largely due to its benefit as a stress-relieving activity. The law library’s Mental Health & Wellness Committee has set up mandala coloring pages in the study lab on the second floor. Here’s a brief article that talks about how small journaling or coloring projects can help you be more productive-- and have less stress.
- Origami. Do you remember how to fold a paper crane? Try out your skills with origami paper in the study lab. (No paper plane throwing in the reading rooms, though, please.)
- Puzzles. Give your brain a rest from puzzling case law and put some jigsaw puzzles together in the study lab. Do a few pieces, sort pieces by color or type, or finish the whole thing!
- Hot chocolate & tea. The law library will be hosting free hot chocolate and tea for law students in the law library entrance on Wednesday, May 1 from 2-4pm.
- Wellness Guide. The Law Library’s wellness guide has tons of tips on mental health and wellness resources at the library, on campus, and in the community.
As always, if you need help with anything, please ask a librarian! We’re always here to help and lend a friendly ear. You’ve got this!
