Biography

Mary Ann Polewski is the Administrative Director of the Legal Research and Writing Program. Since graduating from the UW Law School in 1981, she has held several positions in the program. She was the full-time Director of the LR&W Program for eight years. Since she began working part time, she has also held the positions of Assistant Director, Program and Scheduling Coordinator, and Advisor for the Citation Curriculum.

Ms. Polewski currently performs numerous administrative and curricular duties for the LR&W Program. She also prepares curriculum materials about legal citation for the fall and spring LR&W courses.

When she was Director of the LR&W Program, Ms. Polewski co-taught Methods for Teaching Legal Writing, the three-credit teaching assistant training course. She also taught Advanced Legal Writing for many years.

Ms. Polewski is married to James Polewski, an attorney at the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, and they have one daughter. She reads eclectically and enjoys word play, movies, and history.
