Biography

Ruth Robarts graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School. After earning her law degree, she served as judicial clerk to Justice William A. Bablitch of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  She has practiced law in the areas of employment and labor, and worked as the executive director of a statewide labor union representing health-care workers.

Ruth has a long-standing interest in public education. She served on the Board of Education for the Madison Metropolitan School District from 1997 to 2007.  She served the law school as Assistant Dean for Student and Academic Affairs for ten and a half years before rejoining the Legal Research and Writing faculty in 2011.
