Course Description

This course is a practical, hands-on learning experience about discovery using actual cases and emphasizing student writing.  The course covers the ethics of discovery, comparison of federal and state discovery rules, and student preparation of each discovery device.  Along the way, we have guest speakers, including other lawyers and a judge.  The course culminates in student depositions of witnesses with actual transcripts provided to each student by a court reporter.
