Biography

Kate Finley is a Clinical Associate Professor and teaches the Second Look Clinic, which seeks sentencing relief for people serving excessive prison sentences. Prior to joining the Law School, Finley was a clinical fellow for the Criminal & Youth Justice and Child Advocacy clinics at Rutgers Law School-Newark.

Professor Finley worked for the International Criminal Court's Chambers (Trial Divison) in The Hague from 2009 to 2014. She is also a former public defender who represented clients in Baltimore and Montgomery County, Maryland. Finley additionally worked as a program associate at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she focused on postsecondary prison education and expanding access to public housing. Finley received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.
