Desmund Wu received an Association of Legal Writing Directors ALWD Teaching Grant for developing teaching modules for teaching generative AI in first-year legal writing in February 2026.
BJ Ard led a discussion focused on AI's impacts on law, economics and policy for the Wisconsin AI Safety Initiative's inaugural AI Meets Society Symposium Feb. 21, 2026, at UW–Madison. He moderated the "Where is AI Today" panel featuring Rep. Adam Neylon and Rep. Clinton Anderson of the Wisconsin State Assembly and Charlie Bullock, senior research fellow at the Institute for Law & AI.
