Mitra Sharafi served as author and commentator on the New Books in South Asian Legal Studies panel during the Law and Society Association conference in San Francisco on May 30, 2026. Sharafi spoke about her book, "Fear of the False: Forensic Science and the Law of Crime in Colonial South Asia," and commented on Ilyas Chattha's "Citizens to Traitors: Bengali Internment Camps in Pakistan, 1971-1974."
