University of Wisconsin Law School Legal Advocacy, Analysis, and Writing professors chose 20 students’ trial briefs for the Spring 2025 Best Brief Competition. The semi-finalists are Yasmeen Asfoor, Justin Barham, Mikayla Bird, Ellie Dellenbach, Conor Green, Isabelle Hoffman, Alyssa Laufenberg, Ariel Leykin, Prescott E. Miller, Lucia Pechloff, Leslie Rapp, Eric Roman-Binhammer, Will Schwegel, Erin Seifert, Emily Smith, Sarah Stout, Dallas Tilley, Lillian VanHandel, Charlie Wied and Stella Yang Zhang.
This summer, these trial briefs will be read and ranked by a panel of Wisconsin attorneys, who will choose the finalists in the competition. The finalists’ briefs will then be read by a panel of UW Law School faculty, who will choose the winning brief. All the briefs will be anonymous throughout the judging process. The winner will be announced in September.
