Professor Victoria Nourse of the University of Wisconsin Law School made two Washington appearances on April 21 and 22, 2009, in relation to her work on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) with Vice President Joseph Biden. Nourse and Biden worked together when he was a U.S. senator.

On April 22, Nourse appeared with Biden at a Georgetown University Law Center conference honoring Biden’s work on VAWA.

On April 21, Nourse was interviewed on WAMU public radio in Washington discussing the newly published book Equal: Women Reshape American Law, by Yale professor Fred Strebeigh. The final two chapters of the book discuss the work by Nourse and Biden on VAWA.

The first chapter of Equal discusses U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Following chapters discuss professors at Georgetown and Boalt Hall.
