Professor Barbara Woodhouse of Levin College of Law, University of Florida, will give a public lecture Thursday, October 11 at 3 p.m., on the topic "Honor Thy Children: Children's Rights and the Transformation of American Law and Policy." The event will take place in Lubar Commons (7200 Law Building), and is sponsored by the Family Law Workshop of the Law School's Institute for Legal Studies.

Barbara Bennett Woodhouse holds the David H. Levin Chair in Family Law at Levin College of Law. She will present her book-length project examining the status of the child in historical context, tracing the emergence of a modern theory of children's rights and exploring the implications for American law and policy.

A public reception will follow the lecture.
