Vicky Selkowe, a third-year student at the University of Wisconsin Law School, has won a nationally respected Skadden Fellowship, presented annually by the law firm of Skadden, Arps to students who have shown exceptional promise in the field of public interest law. Ms. Selkowe's fellowship begins in August 2003, based at the Law School's Economic Justice Institute and Neighborhood Law Project, where her project will be to work on behalf of low-wage workers, representing them in employment and benefits matters in collaboration with the Workers' Rights Center in Madison.Before enrolling in the UW Law School, Ms. Selkowe worked at the Institute for Wisconsin's Future. She has extensive background in the area of welfare reform and in the situation of low-wage workers in the post-welfare economy.
