University of Wisconsin third-year law student Carlos Becerra, has been awarded the Fried Frank/ Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund fellowship to pursue work in public interest law.

Under the terms of the fellowship, Mr. Becerra will work for Fried Frank for two years and then for the fellowship's designated public interest organization for two years, while continuing to be paid by Fried Frank.

This fellowship parallels that just awarded to Becerra's classmate Jenigh Garrett, winner of the Fried Frank/NAACP fellowship. Both are extremely competitive programs, and it is noteworthy that the UW Law School had two winners in a single year.
