The University of Wisconsin Law School officially opened its doors to new students on Wednesday, August 27, 2003, with an eventful three-day Orientation.
Wednesday's schedule included check-in and photo-taking for all entering students from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a morning program in Bascom Hall, presented by representatives of the faculty, Student Bar, and administration. After lunch, from 1 to 2:45 p.m., students returned to the Law School to be divided into their small groups for Question & Answer sessions.
Wednesday afternoon, the students joined faculty and staff for Convocation, with this year's Keynote Speech presented by Attorney Erica Moeser, Executive Director of the National Council of Bar Examiners, and a UW Law School graduate.
Thursday featured the Law School's annual Community Service Day for new students, and Friday afternoon included demonstrations of class discussions and a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Law School's Boerner Plaza, for students, spouses, partners, children, parents ? and any other students wanting to meet other students over snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
