APALSA-SALSA sent seven teams to the Central Regional Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition held on October 17-18 in Chicago. Bennett Myers brought home the 1st Place - Best Oralist Award, with Arman Rouf following him with 2nd Place - Best Oralist Award. Also, Mioko Tajika and Notesong Srisopark Thompson were awarded Best Brief.
APALSA-SALSA is the acronym for the combined Asian Pacific American and South Asian Law Student Associations.
Team members included Yu Uni Li and Frederick Chee; Richard Atencio and Arman Rouf; Ameen Imam and Ramon Alvarado; Chin Choi and David Tong; Bennett Myers and Shantanu Singh; Arthur Kuo and Anshuman Vaidya; Mioko Tajika and Notesong S. Thompson.
APALSA-SALSA officially thanked Dean of Students Ruth Robarts for her encouragement and generous support, and Professor Carin Clauss for her expertise and guidance in helping prepare the teams for the competition. APALSA-SALSA also thanked the professors, law school staff, student coaches, and student judges for their time and assistance.
