Beginning in the 2004-05 academic year, students at the University of Wisconsin can enroll in a new Dual Degree Program in which they work toward a J.D. (law degree) and Ph.D. in Political Science, with a course of study and writing requiring approximately seven years to complete.

The course of study is flexible, permitting a student to develop a personalized program in consultation with faculty advisors.
