The second biennial Midwest Law and Society Retreat, hosted by the Institute for Legal Studies at the University of Wisconsin Law School, is scheduled for October 1 and 2, 2004, at the Pyle Center on the UW-Madison campus.

This year's event features a keynote address by Jonathan Simon, Professor of Law/Jurisprudence and Social Policy at the University of California-Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). The program includes 27 informal presentations by faculty and graduate students.

The Retreat brings together faculty and graduate students from the Midwest's diverse law and society programs for a weekend of intellectual exchange and community building. The two-day event offers participants an opportunity to share research, discuss professional issues, receive feedback on works in progress, and develop future projects with regional colleagues.

The inaugural Midwest Law and Society Retreat took place at the UW Law School in 2002.
