Race Judicata, the University of Wisconsin Law School's annual walk-or-run competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF), will be held Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 9 a.m. in Madison's Olin Park. Participants should gather in the north parking lot.

Sign-up at the Law School for the 5K run/walk begins October 4 in the Atrium. Registration includes a T-shirt and is $15 for individuals and $12 per person for groups of six or more. Anyone in the community wishing to take advantage of the $12 per person group rate needs to register in advance by contacting Joel Mandelman, jdmandelman@wisc.edu.

The race, which is open to all, raises funds for summer grants to students in unpaid public interest law jobs. Last year's race yielded $6,300 to help UW Law students working in numerous public interest organizations including:

The Legal Aid Society, New York City

Wisconsin Citizen Action, Madison

Environmental Law & Policy Center, Chicago

WISPIRG

Foundation for Sustainable Development, Bolivia

Florida Legal Services, Migrant Justice, Lake Worth, Florida

Anyone with questions may e-mail Joel Mandelman at jdmandelman@wisc.edu or Greg Renden at garenden@wisc.edu .
